just like his parents. |

The Amazon
We flew to Peru into the darkest corner of the Amazon
to follow jungle hunters who burn frog venom into their bodies
in order to "talk" to their jungle prey. |

Puerto
Vallarta
We stepped off the boat for a stroll through this
very quaint Mexican village. The winding cobblestoned streets
took us across the Rio Cuale and into the hills that adorn this
stunning Pacific bay. As we passed this stone castle-like home,
we said aloud, "Wow, what would it be like to own a place
like this?"
Now, we know. It's ours. |

Baja and Beyond
We continue south. After a month and a half in Baja
California, the jewel of Mexico, we move to the Mainland. Baja
is considered to be one of the most beautiful cruising grounds
in the entire world. We found pristine waters and incredible
wildlife. The mainland brings the beginning of the rainforest
in this country. Exotic. Tropical. |

San Francisco, California
Our journey begins, but not without a lot of preparation.
We've researched every piece of equipment the Aviana nees for
the voyage south. None of it is cheap. The price goes up when
you attach "marine" to it.
Our stops include San Simeon Cove, Santa Cruz,
Morro Bay, Santa Barbara, The Channel Islands, Los Angeles &
San Diego. |

Hong Kong
It's back under Chinese rule but has lost none of
it's character. We spent 5 days here and loved every moment.
From it's exotic birds, to it's crowded streets, bright lights,
it's an international city. It was also our re-entry to reality. |
CHINA |
May 1998 |
Bangkok
There's a wonderful feeling of calm as soon as you
step into this country! We immediately flew to Chang Mai, a delightful
town in the northern part of the country. It has a slight hippie-dynamic
which we enjoyed. A rented jeep allowed us to explore primitive
roads and equally primitive villages. Later we set out to discover
the island of Phuket. We rounded out the trip here in Bangkok,
a terrific city with too much polution, but great energy. |

April 1998 |
Dehli
We flew into Dehli from Rome. We landed here at 3
0'Clock in the morning and after hours of trying to figure out
the Indian transportation system, we hopped into an old Ambassador
cab and rode for 11 hours to the foothills of the Himalayas.
We based ourselves for 3 weeks in Shimla. A stunningly beautiful
town with an incredibly view of the snow- capped mountains. We
explored surrounding villages..dusty but charming. We left India
the day after officials detonated their nuclear weapons. |

Ljubliana
Ljubliana was a lovely surprise. The tiny country
of Slovenia was once part of the former Yugoslavia. It has meshed
both it's historic past with it's promising future. |
SLOVENIA |
April 1998 |
Rome
Italy was all we'd remembered and more. We ate and
ate our way through this pasta heaven. We visited Venice and also
drove through the Umbria region of the country.
A small village called, Spoleto, settled nicely into
our hearts. Though we can hardly remember, the best bar in the
country is The Drunken Ship...an ex-pat's paradise. |

Mar 1998 |
Paris
It was a quick trip from England aboard the Chunnel
train to Paris. We spent 5 glorious days in France... walking
Paris then driving through the Loire Valley. |

London
We arrive in London after some 15 hours on an airplane.
immediately we rent a car and explore the entire country. Six
days driving on the wrong side of the road through the north,
to Lincolnshire to Wales and on to the southern tip at Falmouth. |

We retreat to our log cabin along the Mogollon Rim
in northern Arizona, travelling back and forth between Pine and
San Francisco. |

Chicago,
Illinois
We quit our jobs as news anchors at Fox-TV to travel
and explore. First on the list: a driving drip across the western
United States. Rafting, hiking, driving the two-lane backroads
across the Dakotas, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and Arizona.
Our two 8-year-old nephews, Tommy and Ricky, were with us. They
made all the major decisions. |
